Continuity of learning is important. When schools are forced to close, they need a safe and robust platform to deliver remote education capabilities.
Education Continuity – an email to my son
March 16, 2020
Dear Johnny,
I know that this health crisis is going to wreak havoc on your school year, but your Mom and I are relieved that you’re coming home this weekend. From the correspondence that I’ve received from your school, it also looks like the rest of the semester…maybe even the rest of the year…will be completed through on-line learning.
I was worried that this closure might push out your graduation date, but it looks like you’ll be able to stay on track and stay safe at the same time. I’m really glad that your school has this way of working remotely. I heard that some schools have been struggling with working on-line…especially some of the elementary schools. When you were home for winter break and showed me how you can attend virtual classes, share info and docs with your professors and still collaborate on projects…it was really impressive. It almost felt like you were still on campus. Also, once you showed your Mom and I that we can do the same things with the on-line app, we’ve been able to video conference with you and get info directly from the school just using a web browser. Easy peasy.
Anyway, just a short note to let you know we’re looking forward to having you home. Hope that your roommate and his family stay safe…give them my best. Drive safe on your way home and see you when you get here.
Love, Dad
Just one critical event—weather, environmental, political or health emergency—can cause a district or university to be closed, campus-wide. Education continuity means that these schools and universities can keep classes open even if their campuses are not. Is there a way to deliver remote teaching?
A cloud-based communication and collaboration platform allows schools to continue operations and support ongoing teaching and learning during the toughest of times. It allows students and faculty to communicate at home just like they do on campus and mitigate disruption to education operations.
To empower student success, your cloud-based communication and collaboration platform should empower student success with:
• Remote learning
• Interactive virtual classrooms with video conferencing
• Staff collaboration
• Unlimited file sharing
• Integration with learning management systems (Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, and more)
Because a crisis is no time to panic, this type of integrated, connected mobile learning environment allows you to continue operations securely and lets your students and faculty communicate and learn without interruption.
